Honey Old Fashioned

Ingredients

  • 90ml whisky
  • 30ml honey simple syrup (See "Note")
  • aromatic bitters, a few dashes
  • orange peel, to garnish
Honey, I'm home! Sweeten up your after-work tipple with honey simple syrup added to the classic Old Fashioned. Serves 1.

To make Honey Simple Syrup: Add 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon of honey to a saucepan. Gently heat until sugar and honey has dissolved. Set aside to cool. 

Love this tilted ice idea? Here's how it's done!

  1. Add chunky ice cube or sphere into a chilled serving glass (see Tip if you want to try this 'Tilted Ice').
  2. Add whisky, honey simple syrup and bitters to a mixing glass and stir to combine.
  3. Pour liquid into your serving glass.
  4. Garnish with an orange peel. Enjoy!

This recipe is inspired by Resene Mānuka Honey paint colour, which is also the paint colour used for the table in the photograph above.
