NEW ZEALAND WINE

"This is what Pinot Gris should taste like!"

An impressive statement and endorsement for one of New Zealand's most-loved wines.

Master of Wine, Bob Campbell was seriously impressed when he tasted Jules Taylor’s Marlborough Pinot Gris 2022, exclaiming, "This is what Pinot Gris should taste like!"

He rated it as the top Marlborough Pinot Gris of that vintage and gave it a whopping score of 94 points, highlighting the flavours of pear, quince, and honeysuckle.

Winemaker and namesake Jules Taylor humbly agrees, also noting nectarine, nougat and citrus flavours and commenting on the dry finish.

The wine is made from modern, flavoursome clones of Pinot Gris, and Jules uses a variety of winemaking techniques to both preserve the delicate aromas and refreshing acidity whilst also enhancing the palate weight and texture.

The end result is a delicious drop, perfect for parties and fantastic with food – such as these Pork Belly Rice Rolls.

Jules recommends pairing it with local seafood such as scallops fried in butter and a touch of garlic and chilli, or just keep things simple and enjoy a glass with friends in the sunshine and order in.
