Banana Rum-a

Ingredients

  • 20ml Kahlua
  • 90ml banana syrup
  • 30ml dark rum
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream
  • 1 slice banana and whipped cream, to garnish
  • BANANA SYRUP
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼-½ cup sugar (depending on your sweet tooth)
  • 2 very ripe bananas, mashed
The name alone is reason enough to give this one a go. It tastes like a grown-up banana shake with an added hint of coffee. Serves 1
  1. For the banana syrup: Heat the sugar and water until the sugar is fully dissolved. Add mashed banana and stir. Leave to cool. Strain liquid, discard solids. Leftover banana syrup will keep for a day in the fridge.
  2. For the cocktail: Place all ingredients except the garnish into a blender and blitz. Pour into a milkshake glass and garnish with whipped cream and a slice of banana, if desired.
