Summer Taste Sensations

Six new drinks to spice up your soirée

Bored of your usual barbecue beer or G&T in the garden? Mix it up this season with these exciting new flavours and blends.

Whether it’s a family gathering or a barbie with your mates, “bring a bottle!” has become the standard summer war-cry. So what should you bring? A slab of beer? That wine on special? Why not get a little bit inspired with one of these refreshing new ideas.

The Ned Pinot Rosé

Summertime sings of fresh berries and cream, which is exactly what you’ll find in each glass of The Ned Pinot Rosé 2015. A blend of pinot noir and pinot gris, this wine is light, crisp, well-rounded and fruity. Definitely one you’ll find hard to share. Leave your bottle in a bucket of half ice and half water for 20 minutes to achieve the perfect serving temperature of 7–13oC.

1800 Coconut

Bring a little bit of Mexico to your summer gathering with this unique, coconut-infused silver tequila. Made with 100% blue agave in Jalisco, Mexico, this slightly sweet, medium-bodied tequila is delicious with pineapple juice, or use it in a classic margarita for a tropical twist .

42BELOW Applejacks Pippin Dry

Blending iconic Kiwi 42BELOW vodka and New Zealand apples creates Applejacks, a unique twist on cider. Pippin Dry has that crisp, fruity hit without being sickly sweet. Best enjoyed chilled and in the sunshine with friends. Applejacks also comes in Ginger Jive flavour, dry upfront with a spicy kick.

Lindauer Enlighten Moscato Rosé

A beautiful blend of muscat and pinotage grapes from Gisborne results in this dazzling pink, deliciously sweet sparkling wine, that is both refreshing and lower in alcohol compared with Lindauer Classic Rosé. A perfect garden party apertif, whatever the celebration. Add some sliced strawberries and a splash of fresh orange juice for an even lighter, fruitier taste.

Speights Ginger Beer

Combining 130 years of brewing experience and real ginger has resulted in this iconic Kiwi brand’s most refreshing brew yet. Neither too sweet or too spicy, it’s the perfect afternoon drop.

Speights Summit Citrus

Classic Kiwi citrus is the taste of summer; enjoy this expert blend of golden lager with lemon, mandarin and grapefruit. With an ABV of 4% it’s a great option for an afternoon in the sun.
