We’re big fans of Golden Bay distillery Dancing Sands and their amazing Sacred Spring gins (read all about them here). And we’re not the only ones.

Sacred Spring just won a gold medal at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2018 for their Sacred Spring Saffron Gin, meaning three of their gins are now gold medal-winners.

The brand uses water from Te Waikoropup? Springs, the world’s second clearest natural spring. Known locally in Golden Bay as “Pup? Springs”, Te Waikoropup? translates to “the place of the dancing sands”, hence the name.

Dancing Sands adds the latest gold medal win to a host of other accolades:

• Sacred Spring Dry Gin – Gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (2017), Gold medal at the London Spirit Masters (2017), Silver medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (2018)
• Sacred Spring Barrel Aged Gin – Gold medal at the London Spirit Masters Competition (2017), Silver medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (2017)
