Crafting Woodford Reserve

Woodford Reserve Bourbon has announced the 11th release in their annual Masters Collection

The latest release from Woodford Reserve, known as Woodford Reserve Masters Collection: Brandy Cask Finish, is a mature bourbon finished in ex-brandy barrels. There are just 200 bottles of this limited-release bourbon available in New Zealand.

A warm red ochre in colour, the whiskey delivers an aroma of chocolate, maple syrup and caramel drizzled over toasted hazelnuts, dark raisins and dried cranberries. Soft notes of oak and spice linger in the depths. On the palate, toffee, dried fruit and toasted hazelnuts are warmed by delicate wood spice notes. The finish is long with a touch of lingering caramel.

If you miss out on one of these limited-edition bottles, try the Woodford Reserve Distillers Select: Kentucky Straight Bourbon. This complex and balanced bourbon comprises more than 200 detectable flavour notes, from bold grain and wood to sweet aromatics, spice and fruit and floral notes.

All bourbon combines the same five elements: water, grain, fermentation, distillation and maturation. At the Woodford Reserve Distillery, they do something special with each of these elements to craft a unique bourbon with a complex flavour.
