Cucumber and Jalapeño Margarita

Ingredients

  • lime wedge, to rim glass
  • fine salt, to rim glass
  • ice cubes
  • 2 thin slices cucumber
  • 2 thin slices jalapeño
  • 60ml tequila
  • 30ml orange liqueur
  • 50ml lime juice
  • 40ml agave syrup
  • cucumber balls (see tip), to garnish
  • jalapeño, de-seeded, thinly sliced, to garnish
Serves 1.

TIP: Make cucumber balls in seconds with a Melon Baller tool, available from kitchenware stores. 

  1. Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass.
  2. Spread salt on a small plate and dip upside down glass in salt.
  3. Add a handful of ice cubes to glass and set aside.
  4. Add sliced cucumber and jalapeño into a cocktail shaker and muddle until juices are released.
  5. Fill cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
  6. Add tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice and agave syrup.
  7. Shake for 20 seconds, then strain into the salt-rimmed glass.
  8. Garnish with cucumber balls and jalapeño.
