Plum and Ginger Whisky Sour

Ingredients

  • 3-4 tinned Black Doris plums
  • 30ml Black Doris plum syrup from tin
  • 2 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • juice of 2 lemons
  • 75ml whisky
  • ice

The perfect balance of fruity, tangy, sweet and sour, could the Plum and Ginger Whisky Sour be the best cocktail ever? Serves 2

  1. Place all ingredients, except ice, in a cocktail shaker. Gently muddle the plums
  2. Add ice and shake well
  3. Taste and adjust accordingly there should be a good balance between the sweet plum and sour lemon
  4. Strain into a martini glass or champagne saucer and garnish with lemon zest
