Hot Head Apple Cider

Ingredients

  • 500ml Crystal Head Vodka
  • 250ml vanilla liqueur or 150ml vanilla simple syrup
  • 220ml orange juice
  • 1.5L apple juice
  • 1tsp nutmeg
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 orange thinly sliced
  • cinnamon sugar (for rim)
  • 3tsp brown sugar
  • fresh apple - red or green for garnish

A medal-worthy cocktail made from one of the winning spirits at the recent 2014 San Francisco World Spirits Competition

  1. Add apple juice, nutmeg, cinnamon sticks, vanilla liqueur, orange juice, orange slices and brown sugar to a slow cooker and let warm slowly until heated through. If you do not have a slow cooker you can use a large pot - just be sure to keep the burner on low and heat up slowly.
  2. Add Crystal Head Vodka about 30 minutes before serving.
  3. Rub orange wedge around entire rim of glass and dip into cinnamon sugar mix. Garnish with a thin slice of apple floating on the top.
