Monteith’s Brewing Co is proud to unveil its latest limited edition brew, a new White IPA.

Taking inspiration from Belgian wheat ales, the Monteith’s White IPA offers refreshing citrus, and tangerine hop aromas complimented by a light and crisp wheat body.

Pilsner and wheat malts form the base of the brew and the inclusion of rolled oats delivers a smooth body. New Zealand Southern Cross, German Mandarina Bavaria and American Citra Hops shape the aroma of this brew. Coriander and citrus zest provide a subtle spice complexity.

Monteith’s White IPA is a collaboration between Brewer’s Leon Dawson and Alex Biedermann; following on from the success of their last collaboration on the Monteith’s RIPA Red IPA.

Leon Dawson, Monteith’s Brewer says, “A White IPA is a beer that mixes the hop-character and brewing methods of an India Pale Ale with the wheat base and spice additions of the refreshing Belgian wit beer. Our West Coast interpretation balances out the bitterness of the hops and adds a slight sweetness to the beer, the result is distinctive citrus and tangerine taste with a hint of spice to finish.”

Monteith’s White IPA is a 5.2%ABV, moderately bitter, hybrid beer. It is a refreshing change-of-pace from a heavier IPA while conveying a satisfying depth-of-flavour and complexity.
